On May 15, 2024, the 15th National Public Security Organs' Publicity Day for Combating and Preventing Economic Crimes, Tongxiang Public Security Bureau, together with Huayou Cobalt Audit and Supervision Centre, jointly held a forum on the theme of " Prevention of Corruption Cases in Private Enterprises". Leaders and staff of Jiaxing Public Security, Tongxiang Public Security, Federation of Industry and Commerce, leaders and staff representatives of Huayou Cobalt Group, totalling more than 500 people, attended the forum, and the activity was broadcasted live on video at the company's branch venues all over the world.

This activity is the first time that the Economic Crime Investigation Forum has entered a company since it was started in 2022. Tongxiang Public Security combined forum lectures with interactive exchanges and integrated knowledge related to corruption in private enterprises into storytelling, bringing a lively and interesting professional course to Huayou employees.

Wang Yi, a police officer from the Economic Crime Investigation Brigade, analysed the manifestations of corruption in private enterprises by means of case stories, explaining the meaning of several high-profile corruption offences.

Economic investigation brigade police Xu Yuanqing analysed the reasons for the breeding of corruption in private enterprises from the legal system, the company's system and the subjective factors of individuals.

Combined with rich experience in handling cases, Ma Qian, deputy chief of the Economic Crime Investigation Brigade, used the two case stories of bid evalsuation experts accepting cash bribes and the person in charge of the Procurement Department being "rounded up" and accepting kickbacks to talk about the people involved in the case as a result of indulging in greed, and moving step by step towards the process of committing crimes, which is a warning to the people.

Shen Tao, deputy director of Chongfu Police Station, summarised the shocking cases and reminded everyone to maintain gratitude to the company and respect for the law, set up a correct outlook on life, values and money.

The moderator carried out interactive Q&A, which was enthusiastically participated by Huayou employees. This form of activity spreads professional knowledge and raises employees' awareness of risk prevention in a relaxed and lively atmosphere.

The phenomenon of internal corruption in private enterprises not only harms the interests of enterprises, but also destroys the order of socialist market economy and undermines social fairness and justice. In recent years, the state has continuously strengthened the rule of law guarantee for the development of private economy, and cracked down on internal corruption offences of enterprises according to the law.  

Xu Xiao, a member of the Party committee and deputy director of Tongxiang Public Security Bureau, mentioned in his speech that according to the relevant deployment of the government, Tongxiang Public Security will continue to carry out special actions to combat and rectify internal corruption in private enterprises, and to help improve the ability of the enterprise's internal risk prevention.

On behalf of the company, Lu Feng, Vice President of the Group, expressed his gratitude to the public security and other governmental authorities who have been working hard for the safety and order of Huayou for a long time, stressing that Huayou will always adhere to the integrity of its business operations, and will, as in the past, actively support and cooperate with the governmental authorities in an effort to build a good relationship of interaction, so as to contribute more to the harmonious and peaceful social environment and the fair and orderly market economy.
